Seva Rural – Day 6

And just when it starts to get comfortable, you know it’s time to go. Two days in Somaj village was soulful, filled with rest in the lap of mother Narmada. Left early morning towards Jagadhia on the bike. It took approx 3 hours, stopped briefly at Kabirvad and reached Seva Rural around 10am.

An incredibly beautiful Organisation rooted in service and spirituality. Inspired by Ramkrishna, vivekananda and Gandhi ji, started by Anil Bhai and Lataben approx 35 years back when they left their job in US to come back and serve in rural India. Focused in medical services, vocational training and education, their impact has been phenomenal.

As I entered the hospital , I felt the vibrations of a sanctuary, everybody who worked there seemed so absorbed in their work as if meditating. Really moved by their simplicity and work values. They never accepted any awards in an individual name but only for the Organisation. A true laddership example in action, where everybody from trustees to employees seemed one family, coming together in selfless service.

In the evening after the prayer, I was invited to share about my journey with entire staff and family which was a humbling experience.

Where do I go now ? I asked Lata ben. Any person she would like to make a pilgrimage to and keeping her in my heart I would make a pilgrimage there. Spontaneously Shrey bhai (Lata didi’s son) and Gayatri Didi, shared about their spiritual teacher in Sydney. Swami Sridharananda ji, 90 yr old, his teacher was a direct disciple of swami vivekananda in Ram Krishna order. For a moment my being was filled with excitement hearing it and then came the mind on the logistics of going there. Without money it would be an interesting journey, I bowed down to the picture of Ramakrishna, and said to myself, let this thought not be my desire and if it comes from you then let me alteast try to move in that direction, how and how far I will reach I don’t know, but just holding that intention filled me with immense love.

Some pictures from today –

With Mayank bhai… Our guide today. Has been part of the Organisation since its beginning in 1980.

Evening puja in a near by Gayatri temple.

Met one Swamiji, Sai baba look a like on our way. He runs a free kitchen for all pilgrims along the way.

As I went to sleep, I asked for an omen if I am in the right path and then I just saw this message from a news letter – messages from the universe

Think not of “how,” madhusudan, whether in terms of logistics, people, or inspiration, but of the end results you dream of. The end, in thought, combined with action in its general direction, will always create the necessary circumstances, serendipities, epiphanies, ideas, and discoveries necessary to bring about the desired manifestation. The hard part is done for you. Your part is the easy part: Think and let go. Knock on every door and turn over every stone. Do not insist upon the path, but upon the overall change you wish to experience, and never take no for an answer.

You’ve been doing it your whole life.

madhusudan, the end result forces the “hows” that yield the manifestation, just as long as you keep physically moving.

You take after me,

The Universe

Path – to go towards Sydney, Australia 🙂 tomorrow visiting Mahendra bhai also suggested by Lata Ben, approx 60 Kim’s from here in Magrol.
