India is celebrating 100 years of Gandhi ji’s return to India from South Africa. On this occasion The indian Government invited lots of foreign delegates and Non-resident Indians to come back and contribute back to the country. Being in Safai Vidylaya we often get lot of visitors, Today we guests from Denmark, Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation Mr. Mogens Jensen, Ambassador Mr. Freddy Svane, Minister’s staff and Embassy personnel.
We showed them around Gandhi Ashram and Manav Sadhna. During a prayer meet in the prayer ground in front of Hridya Kunj (Gandhi ji’s home), the minister interacted with the girls from Manav Sadhna School and I was translating for him. He asked the girls, who come from very poor background, how was their life before coming to the ashram and how has it become different now. The answer which one of the girls gave moved him deeply, she said “After coming here, we now have deep awareness of the world around us, the most important thing we have learnt is love and respect for each other and how to grow together in harmony”.
